The word "Ogre" comes to mind. The signs were fantastic, the colors as well, and this man was so sad and imposing at the same time, watching us from across the street and not moving as we passed him. He looked in pain, thus the crutches, I guess, so we didn't mind moving around him, but that's why I thought of the title, mostly.
I also see this as a representation of the way people are representing weight as a whole, the loss of it and the consequences of having certain amounts of it. I think for health reasons, yes, it's great that people care and are promoting all these ways to help people live healthy lives with their bodies, or shape them the way they want to.
However, it gets excessive. I see so many commercials and ads these days that make me feel they're making this type of body something to hate, to feel ashamed of. I love people. I love peace of mind. When the collective judges them based on things like that I get sad and angry. I know it's human nature to judge, but that's why there's teasing, ridicule, and depression in groups that are isolated. A wall of silence or suffocating complacency is placed on a topic. These people have no one to turn to for solace and it gets to be counter-productive.
I have no solid solution. I'm just...ranting. I just wish, collectively, the forums that are supposed to help people would do it for the people. In general. Money seems to be the problem, and to get people to buy things, you have to sell it a certain way.
Either way, I like this picture.
Can't decide, yet again, which version I like more.
Ditto. Glad I made some sort of sense. I need sleep. I love this photo so much I want to make sure the idea is coherently stated before another perspective could be formed.
